Camp Cambodia Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Phnom Penh

The wait is over… Your Camp Cambodia adventure begins! 🇰🇭

Arrive at Phnom Penh airport where you will be welcomed by your Camp Cambodia Co-ordinator.

Mingle and meet your fellow campers who will rapidly become family over the next three weeks.

A transfer awaits to take you to your new home in a gorgeous location, and you will have the choice to head out for a welcome meal in the evening to get to know your new family.

*Please note the meal is not included as this is completely optional*

Day 2 – Sightseeing in Phnom Penh

Wake up to your first full day In Phnom Penh, head to the local markets and immerse yourself in some Cambodian culture. Try some of the irresistible local cuisine or pick up a souvenir to remind you of your time. This is an opportunity to venture out and explore some of the phenomenons Phnom Penh has to offer.

Day 3 – Visit Killing Fields, S21 & Royal Palace

Today is an opportunity to unravel the history of Phnom Penh with a cultural tour around the city. You will be visiting the Royal Place, the Killing Fields, and S21. This a day of learning more about Cambodia’s gripping and insightful history.

After your jam-packed day, you will grab some dinner before jumping on the overnight bus to Siem Reap.

Day 4 – Induction day

We’ve left the morning free for you to enjoy a lie in and to take advantage of the onsite swimming pool before your official Camp Orientation and Khmer language class.

An evening meal is a perfect opportunity to discuss the eventful past few days and to look forward to the rest of your time in Cambodia. Let’s all head out on the famous pub street for a few drinks and a boogie.

Day 5 – Pool Party

It’s time to party: Today you will head to your very own Camp Exclusive pool party.

Day 6 – Cycle Tour

Get Cycling 🚲

Cycle through Cambodia and see it’s a beauty with the sun shining down on you. Lunch that will be more memorable than any Tesco meal deal and maybe even a cheeky swim before heading back on for another cycle in the afternoon.

Why not experience a Khmer massage to help relax? You will need all the rest you can get in preparation for tomorrow’s activities…

Day 7 – Sunrise at Angkor Wat

You know what they say: the early bird catches the worm… If you are not a morning person this won’t exactly be your idea of fun but it will be worth it. You will be up at the crack of dawn (quite literally) as you will head to Angkor Wat to catch a beautiful sunrise.

This special moment will be embedded in your brain forever and you can capture a beautiful photo to show people at home. Angkor Wat has been used as a filming location for Tomb Raider and was once named one of the World’s Seven Wonders. This incredible temple is not to be missed and will definitely be worth the early start.

The whole day will be spent exploring some other local temples after you early start.

Day 8 – First Day of Teaching

Here at Camp Cambodia, we fund our very own school called Grandfather’s House. Today you will be teaching the adorable kids and spending your day giving back to the local community, an opportunity to truly immerse yourself in Cambodia’s culture.

You will have an overnight stay at local accommodation.

Day 9 – Teaching

Back at it again, you will be straight back into the school teaching more adorable children before heading back to Siem Reap in the evening.

Day 10 – Tuk Tuk Tour

Let’s race through the streets on your very own Camp Tuk Tuk tour. You will be stopping along the way visiting some floating markets and you will have the chance to purchase some one of a kind souvenirs to take home for your friends and family.

Days 11-16 – School Visit

Spend your mornings/afternoons heading into some local schools to teach English and bring fun to the classroom. Our adorable kids will be sure to give you the most incredible welcome every day.

In your evenings you will have time to explore all that Cambodia has to offer and your reps will be sure to keep you entertained with quizzes, karaoke, and even a Camp games night.

Day 17 – Elephants!

The day everybody is waiting for has finally arrived. ELEPHANT DAY!

Today you will spend the whole day at a local Elephant sanctuary getting to feed these incredible beauties and give them a well-deserved bath and mud facial. (caution you may get wet and very muddy)

Day 18 – Free Day

Time to kick your feet back and relax as you will have a well deserved free day. Go and explore Cambodia and satisfy your adventurous desires.

Day 19 – Silk Farm

Today you will get the incredible joy of visiting a hugely popular traditional silk farm in Siem Reap. In traditional wooden stilt houses, you will get to see silk being made in front of your very own eyes.

Then there’s the chance to purchase some beautiful local crafts made onsite and to give the talented locals the congratulations they deserve for their pure skill they take years to master.

Day 20 – Phnom Koulen

Today you will get to visit without a doubt one of the most memorable sights in Cambodia. Phnom Koulen is a beautiful mountain range with a gigantic roaring waterfall, that will just take your breath away.

Go on and head in for a splash whilst you take those insta pics to flood your friends feeds who are wishing they got to share your experience.

Day 21 – Farewell Dinner

For you last full day here at Camp Cambodia you will have the morning to relax before heading to a farewell pool party and dinner with all your Camp family. A sad moment that your time together is almost over but also an opportunity to plan a reunion, because with lots of other Camp locations why not try Vietnam as a group next year?

Day 22 – Transport Back to Phnom Penh

Time to head off home, after early morning check out you will have transport back to the airport so you can catch your flights.
