Camp Maldives 10 Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Male

Welcome to Paradise! Upon arrival at Male International Airport you will be greeted by our local rep and transferred across to your guesthouse on Hulhumale. Relax after your flight before meeting the rest of your group and starting to explore the local area.

The centrepiece to the island of Hulhumale is its huge mosque – the golden glass dome of which is visible from all over the southern part of North Male Atoll! Feel free to explore the cultural hub at your own pace this afternoon, or lie by the sea on the golden sands of Hulhumale’s palm fringed beach! The Maldives is known as the home to the world’s best beaches…time to get your tan on!

Day 2 – Male Day Tour & Transfer to Guraidhoo

Rise and Shine – you woke up in the Maldives! Today we’ll head out on a Male City Tour! Marvel at bustling local markets, the world renowned President’s Palace and experience traditional Maldivian Friday Mosque. After lunch, we’ll jump aboard the ferry to the beautiful island of Guraidhoo, our magical home for the next few days, another slice of paradise!

Meals: Breakfast

Day 3 – Snorkelling, Guraidhoo Island Tour & Tree Planting

This morning, head down to the beach and into the ocean to explore the house reef of Guraidhoo for your first underwater encounter! Discover an abundance of beautiful marine life within the world’s clearest waters! Prepare to marvel at schools of rare fish, giant clams, Hawks-bill turtles and possibly even whitetip reef sharks! Your guide will give a safety briefing on responsible snorkeling and act as your ‘spotter’ pointing out incredible marine life as you explore.

In the afternoon, explore Guraidhoo with the opportunity to learn about the local way of life!

Visit the local Mosque, learn how the common wooden boat known locally as a ‘dhoni’ is built and take some time to leave your mark on the island by planting your very own coconut palm tree!

Meals: Breakfast

Day 4 – Island Clean Up

It’s time to make a difference! Learn about waste management in the Maldives and the work we’re doing with plastic recycling as we join forces with locals to complete a beach clean-up. Make a real difference within the local community and to Maldivian marine life to help keep the island a magical paradise!

Day 5 – Snorkelling, Sandbank Visit & Dolphin Cruise!

Prepare for an early start this morning as we transfer by ferry to the local island of

Maafushi, just 20 minutes away. After checking into the guesthouse you will have another opportunity to explore the underwater beauty of the Maldives and a brand new island! We will stop at a sandbank for a picnic lunch with time to swim and snorkel in the crystal blue lagoon or just lie back and relax (crucial tanning time!).

This afternoon, prepare for everyone’s favourite part of the trip! We’ll head back to Maafushi and will cruise the Indian Ocean at sundown, in search of wild Maldivian dolphins! Keep your eyes peeled and camera’s at the ready for dolphins swimming the ocean-top in their wild habitat… a truly unforgettable experience!*

*Please note, it is not guaranteed that dolphins will be seen on the dolphin cruise. This is dependent on time of year and various other factors.

Meals: Breakfast

Day 6 – Coral Planting Day

Today we’ll learn the story of coral reef preservation and rehabilitation, as well as the importance of Maldivian seagrass. Get involved with planting and housekeeping in the ‘coral nursery’ to help preserve the diverse coral and precious marine life of the Maldives. Put on your snorkels and keep your eyes peeled throughout, as the coral nurseries are the home to some magnificent creatures! Go-Pro’s at the ready!

Day 7 – Gulhi Island Beach Day & Snorkelling

After breakfast, take a short 20 minute ferry journey to the peaceful local island of Gulhi, famous for its almost untouched land. Upon arrival, head to the beautiful ‘bikini beach’ for some relaxing downtime, or for the more energetic, join your guide for a boat trip and final snorkeling opportunity on the house reef of Gulhi! There’s no such thing as too much snorkelling, right?!
