Welcome to Camp Nepal. If you were looking for the ultimate adventure you’re in the right place! Make a difference by visiting orphanages, teaching in local schools and aiding physically disabled children, while having the trip of a lifetime. We ensure you see all that Nepal has to offer, visiting hotspots such as Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara.

The Experience

Camp Nepal is an exceptional camp as volunteers travel between many different locations, meaning you really get to see the country and experience all is has to offer. The volunteering side is really hands on and you make an incredible positive impact in local orphanages and with physically disabled children. Enjoy boat rides, temples, pagodas, elephants, rhinos (tigers if you're very lucky) national parks, caves and even falls. Nepal is a country of natural beauty so you will fall in love with it's vast landscape. We're guessing most of your friends haven't been to Nepal, so this is a chance for you to really get off the beaten track and experience something unique.

Itinerary

Welcome: You will be picked up from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu before being transferred to your accommodation. Now it’s time to make friends, try the local cuisine and explore the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Later on you will receive an orientation, giving you all the essential information, and a welcome meal.

Volunteering: For the next 5 days you will begin your volunteer placement. You will be helping in either an orphanage, at a teaching project or with physically disabled children. Your help in these projects will be invaluable and you will be truly making a difference to their lives. You will be teaching them basic conversational english and helping with other school subjects.You can even take them out on small trips and excusrions in the local area, to engage them in extra curricular activities.

Kathmandu City Tour: Today we will show you the highlights of Kathmandu, You will be guided around Buddhist and Hindu temples, pagodas, shrines, monasteries and many historic sites. This is a fascinating way to experience Nepal’s interesting culture.  

Free day: There are lots of extra activities you can get involved with, or head to Thamel to barter in the local shops or try out a few pubs.

Volunteering: Continue with your volunteer placement for the next 5 days.

Trip to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot: Today you will visit one of Nepal’s famous kingdoms, Bhaktapur. Here you can see some amazing pagodas, before heading to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is located near Kathmandu and here you can get incredible views over the Himalayas. This is a sight not to be missed, which is why we stay to watch the sunset over the mountains.

Visit to Patan and Swayabhunath Temple: Patan is also a beautiful ancient kingdom, and is very different to Kathmandu. You will then visit the magnificent Swayabhunath Temple.

Tour of Chitwan: After arriving in Chitwan you can check into your accommodation and discuss jungle activities with the local staff. The day after you will be taken on a Safari in Chitwan National Park, home to elephants, Rhinos and Tigers! You will then join a nature walk and go bird watching.

Tour of Pokhara: The following day you will be taken to Pokhara. Once checked in you can enjoy some local food before partaking on an evening boat ride on Phewa Lake. In the morning you will visit the famous Sarangkot for sunrise, getting some incredible views of the Himalayas. You will then join a city tour visiting; Mahendra Cave, Seti River Gorge, Devi’s Fall, Peace Pagoda and Bindhyabasini Temple. If you want to you can add extra activities to your placement, like paragliding!

You will then travel back to Kathmandu, for last minute souvenir shopping, before being taken to the airport the following day for your return flight.

FAQ's

Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu
Basic dorm or guesthouse style accommodation. You will have access to all basic amenities, shower, bathroom, wifi etc.
A lot of people do travel by themselves yes. Everyone is in the same boat so you will make some great friends.
Nepalese Rupee (NPR)
Wifi will be available at the majority of places you visit. Please note it may not always be reliable so you could bring an unlocked phone and purchase a sim card with internet.
Stage 1: Apply! We need certain information so we can assess your application. Once you have applied for Camp Nepal one of our lovely team member will be in contact. They will give you all the required information, answer any questions you may have, and tell you about their amazing personal experiences at Camp Nepal. Stage 2: If accepted onto the program, all you need to do to secure your place is pay a £99 deposit. This confirms your spot and you don’t need to pay the remaining balance until 8 weeks before you leave to Camp Nepal. Welcome pack Once your deposit is paid we will send you a welcome document, confirming your place and giving you next step information, detailing everything we need to organise before you arrive. Flights and Insurance We will then pass you over to our flight partners. They will be in touch to help you arrange these and give you some great deals. Once you do book your flights remember to send us your itinerary so we can arrange your pick up. Visa & Vaccines You will have to make sure you have the correct visa and required vaccines for your Camp Nepal placement. We will be in contact at the appropriate time to advise. Pre Departure Pack Before you fly, you will receive information about packing lists, pick up arrangements and your in country orientation.
